Spring is here and Summer's on its way! Is your beach cottage ready? When my two daughters were little there was magic in the air as we packed up our cars and headed from the Boston suburbs to Cape Cod. Our English Springer Spaniel, Budweiser could smell the salt air as we approached the bridge. Such fond memories and fortunately those memories have merged into real life as we live and work in the charming Cape village of Cotuit.
With Memorial Day just a few days away and Covid 19 continuing to wreak havoc with our summer plans maybe some of you would like help visualizing and implementing a few changes to your beach cottage. So today we are going to show you the "cocktail" room in my house and share sources for the various items so you could achieve a similar look and feel.  Hope you have some fun!

Our 250+ year old Sea Captain's house is very eclectic and we have truly made an effort to keep it casual and fun with a mix of old and new.

Opposite our sitting area is my husband Phil's bar - hence The Cocktail Room! With Summer comes entertaining...when we renovated this room we opened up the wall with 6' of french doors that open out to our patio and stationary side windows for more light. The patio becomes an extension of the sitting area.

Our daughter Charlotte has a house favorite, Moscow Mule going and Phil is making my favorite Cosmo martini - not sure what Dexter is hoping to partake in.

Every cocktail room needs a puzzle nook for those rainy days or to help pass the time with our current stay at home lifestyle! The table is an IKEA table top with a trestle base and we had two of our dining parsons chairs slipcovered in our Seaweed XL Inverse Sunny. Lighting up the area is a chrome Pottery Barn floor lamp which has been discontinued. Keep checking our Chairish shop as a pair will be listed soon.

Just wait until you see the round table we have coming from Made Goods. We'll be sure to let you have a peek at that in future journal entry...

Ah yes, the Hanging Cod.  My absolute favorite find from Ramble MarketWaltham MA. Reminds me everyday that I live on Cape Cod!

Yup, you guessed it - the puzzle is Fenway Park! Just got completed but not without having a few cocktails, after all it is

    "The Cocktail Room".

It must be cocktail hour somewhere in the world and it's almost Memorial Day Weekend so kick back and have a sip!
