Owner & Designer
Beth comes to design from a background spanning corporate sales and marketing to designing and manufacturing children’s knitwear to the 2006 launch of BjtO Designs, a home staging firm serving Boston’s luxury home market. Design № Five, Beth’s fifth business venture, is the culmination of her design talent and management expertise along with her team-building know-how. Beth divides her time between a loft in downtown Waltham and Cotuit with her husband and DN5 partner, Phil, and she is the mother of two daughters.
Creative Director & Artist in Residence
Karen creates, sources and installs art for our staging and design clients, orchestrates our showroom displays, and coordinates our gallery shows featuring Cape Cod artists. She designs and builds furniture and drives our commitment to sustainability through creative up-cycling. Inspired by the intersection of earth and ocean, she is an impressionistic painter in oils. And she is an in-demand faux painter. Karen, a native of Cape Cod, lives and paints in Centerville with her two sons.

Dexter is his own man in the land of designing women. He has designs on everyone he welcomes to the DN5 warehouse, workroom and showroom we like to call, The Shop. He navigates a wide range of design styles, in style, and sets his compass to his own true north - the kitchen rubbish bin. Dexter holds a certificate in Pugs and Kisses. All rubbish aside, he is a valued member of the Design № Five team and the Odence family.
